William R Smart was the manager and/or owner of the lanes per the 1941-42 Ives Business Directory.
Charlie (Charles) Bateman and wife May converted the grocery store to Afton Bowling Lanes in 1958, later selling the establishment to their daughter Dawn and husband Douglas McCaskill. Five lanes were initially installed downstairs. In 1958, five lanes were installed upstairs by the Bateman family and the downstairs' lanes were mostly abandoned. |
